5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Georgan Reitmeier is concluding her service to the |

6 | 6 | | Klein Independent School District Board of Trustees in November |
---|
7 | 7 | | 2023; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Reitmeier was first elected to the school board |
---|
9 | 9 | | in 2005, and over the course of her exemplary 18-year tenure, she |
---|
10 | 10 | | has worked tirelessly in behalf of the district and distinguished |
---|
11 | 11 | | herself as a steadfast advocate for public education; in addition |
---|
12 | 12 | | to fulfilling her duties on the board, she currently volunteers as a |
---|
13 | 13 | | mentor at McDougle Elementary School and is on the Literacy Squad of |
---|
14 | 14 | | Bridging For Tomorrow at Klenk Elementary School; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Prior to joining the board, Ms. Reitmeier served |
---|
16 | 16 | | Klein ISD as a longtime parent volunteer and then as the director of |
---|
17 | 17 | | the Early Childhood Intervention Keep Pace program for the Harris |
---|
18 | 18 | | County Department of Education; deeply dedicated to her community, |
---|
19 | 19 | | she has also given generously of her time and talents to a number of |
---|
20 | 20 | | other organizations, including the Gulf Coast Area Association of |
---|
21 | 21 | | School Boards, the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), and |
---|
22 | 22 | | the Lone Star Investment Pool, and she is a founding member of the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum; in recognition of her |
---|
24 | 24 | | accomplishments, she earned the 2013 Outstanding Women in Education |
---|
25 | 25 | | award from the North Harris County branch of the American |
---|
26 | 26 | | Association of University Women; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Reitmeier holds both a bachelor's and a master's |
---|
28 | 28 | | degree in education from Oklahoma State University, and she earned |
---|
29 | 29 | | a master trustee certification from Leadership TASB; in all her |
---|
30 | 30 | | endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of a fine family that |
---|
31 | 31 | | includes her husband, Tom, and their two children; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Georgan Reitmeier's hard work, professionalism, and |
---|
33 | 33 | | commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the students of |
---|
34 | 34 | | Klein ISD and earned the respect and admiration of her peers, and |
---|
35 | 35 | | her contributions will resonate in the community for years to come; |
---|
36 | 36 | | now, therefore, be it |

37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

38 | 38 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor Georgan Reitmeier for |

39 | 39 | | her service on the Klein Independent School District Board of |

40 | 40 | | Trustees and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
