5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |
---|
6 | 6 | | passing of Leslie Paul Boone of Blanchard, Oklahoma, on September |
---|
7 | 7 | | 29, 2023, at the age of 77; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Paul Boone was born on January 9, 1946, and he |
---|
9 | 9 | | attended schools in the Tuloso-Midway Independent School District |
---|
10 | 10 | | in Corpus Christi; following his high school graduation in 1964, he |
---|
11 | 11 | | obtained a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Texas A&I |
---|
12 | 12 | | University; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Boone was employed as a teacher and coach for |
---|
14 | 14 | | many years, and he went on to enjoy a rewarding career in the |
---|
15 | 15 | | petrochemical industry that spanned more than two decades; he later |
---|
16 | 16 | | retired to Lake Toledo Bend in Hemphill, where he lived for some 15 |
---|
17 | 17 | | years before moving to Oklahoma; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Boone benefited from the |
---|
19 | 19 | | love and support of his wife, Bonnie, with whom he shared a |
---|
20 | 20 | | fulfilling marriage that spanned 58 years; he took great pride in |
---|
21 | 21 | | his children, Brian and Bren, and his family eventually grew to |
---|
22 | 22 | | include six grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, Carsen, Kaed, Kaelyn, |
---|
23 | 23 | | and Kye; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Boone treasured time spent with his loved ones, |
---|
25 | 25 | | and some of his favorite activities included cheering on his |
---|
26 | 26 | | children at sporting events, cooking meals for family gatherings, |
---|
27 | 27 | | and playing card and board games; he was also a talented craftsman |
---|
28 | 28 | | and enjoyed building things by hand; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Although Paul Boone is deeply missed, memories of |
---|
30 | 30 | | his warmth, his integrity, and his devotion to his family remain to |
---|
31 | 31 | | comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
---|
34 | 34 | | Leslie Paul Boone and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of |
---|
35 | 35 | | his family: to his wife, Bonnie Boone; to his brother, Wayne Boone; |
---|
36 | 36 | | to his sister, Loyce Pearson and her husband, Mike; to his son, |
---|
37 | 37 | | Brian Boone and his wife, Kimberly; to his daughter, Bren Petroski |
---|
38 | 38 | | and her husband, Tom; to his grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, and |
---|
39 | 39 | | Carsen Boone, and Kaed, Kaelyn, and Kye Petroski; and to his other |
---|
40 | 40 | | relatives and many friends; and, be it further |

41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

42 | 42 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |

43 | 43 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Paul Boone. |
