| 6 | 6 | | tour at Jones Hall in Houston from December 26, 2023, to January 1, |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This year marks the 18th anniversary of Shen Yun's |

| 9 | 9 | | establishment in the United States; in 2006, a small group of elite |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Chinese artists came together in New York with the mission to revive |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | traditional Chinese culture and share it with the world; since |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | then, Shen Yun has staged magnificent live performances of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | classical Chinese dance that incorporate a blend of Eastern |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | instrumentation and Western symphony orchestra to portray 5,000 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | years of Chinese history and culture; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Each year, Shen Yun Performing Arts designs |

| 17 | 17 | | brand-new productions that take audiences back through time and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | space to experience China before the advent of Communism; since its |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | inception, Shen Yun has grown to eight equally sized companies that |

| 20 | 20 | | tour around the world synchronously; it will kick off its 2024 |

| 21 | 21 | | season in Houston on December 26, 2023, which will be followed by |

| 22 | 22 | | performances in Dallas, Austin, Lubbock, San Antonio, McAllen, |

| 23 | 23 | | Midland, and El Paso, for a total of 37 shows in Texas; and |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Shen Yun has introduced countless patrons to the |

| 25 | 25 | | exquisite beauty and richness of traditional Chinese culture and |

| 26 | 26 | | dance, and it is a pleasure to join in celebrating the return of |

| 27 | 27 | | Shen Yun and its impressively talented performers to the Bayou |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
