| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Suzanne Reed of the Flower Mound Police Department |

| 6 | 6 | | was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on October 15, 2023, and this |

| 7 | 7 | | achievement represents an impressive milestone in her law |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | enforcement career; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Reed was hired by the Flower Mound Police |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Department as a patrol officer in 2006; over the course of her |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | tenure, she has distinguished herself in such varied roles as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | detective, crimes analyst, victim's liaison, patrol sergeant, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | traffic sergeant, and she has also served on the crisis negotiation |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | team and as an instructor; moreover, she has furthered her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | professional development by earning certification as a master peace |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | officer, marine safety enforcement officer, and mental health peace |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | officer; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In recognition of her contributions, Lieutenant |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Reed was selected as the Officer of the Year in both 2009 and 2014; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | her other accolades include the 2014 State of Texas Senate Award and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the 2015 Police Commendation Award; this accomplished peace officer |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | holds an associate's degree in computer science from Howard |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | College; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through her skill, professionalism, and dedication |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to duty, Lieutenant Suzanne Reed has greatly benefited her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | colleagues and her fellow citizens, and she may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | pride on this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Suzanne Reed |
