| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Ball of the Flower Mound Police Department was |

| 6 | 6 | | promoted to the rank of lieutenant on October 15, 2023, and this |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | achievement represents an impressive milestone in his law |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | enforcement career; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Ball was hired by the Flower Mound Police |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Department as a patrol officer in 2009; and two years later, he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | became a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division, and he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | was promoted to sergeant in 2016; his responsibilities have |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | included serving as a drone pilot, and he has furthered his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | professional development by earning certification as a master peace |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | officer; in recognition of his many contributions, he was honored |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | as the 2022 Sworn Supervisor of the Year; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Ball began his career in law enforcement |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in 2000 with the Irving Police Department, and from 2003 to 2009, he |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | was a member of the Dumas Police Department, where he held the rank |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of sergeant; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and dedication |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to duty, Lieutenant Jim Ball has greatly benefited his colleagues |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and his fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Jim Ball on |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | attaining the rank of lieutenant with the Flower Mound Police |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
