| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, John Stewart of the Flower Mound Police Department |

| 6 | 6 | | was promoted to the rank of sergeant on October 15, 2023, and this |

| 7 | 7 | | achievement represents an impressive milestone in his law |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | enforcement career; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Stewart attended Louisiana Tech |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | University, and he began his career with the Flower Mound police |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | force in 2016; after working as a patrol officer, he transferred to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the Criminal Investigations Division in 2020, and he has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | distinguished himself in the roles of fraud detective, Cellebrite |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | operator, and certified cyber crime investigator; he has also |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | served as a bike officer and a SWAT operator; a National Computer |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Forensics Institute graduate, he holds advanced peace officer |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Highly respected by his peers, Sergeant Stewart was |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | honored as the Flower Mound Police Department Rookie of the Year in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 2018; additionally, he has garnered two Community Service Awards |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and a Certificate of Merit Award; a task force officer with the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | United States Secret Service, he is the recipient of multiple |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | letters of appreciation and commendations from the U.S. Department |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of Justice and other federal agencies; moreover, he is a former |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | president of the Flower Mound Police Association and currently |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | serves as the organization's acting vice president; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and dedication |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | to duty, Sergeant John Stewart has greatly benefited his colleagues |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and his fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate John Stewart |

| 33 | 33 | | on attaining the rank of sergeant with the Flower Mound Police |
