| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Justin Hobbs of the Flower Mound Police Department |

| 6 | 6 | | was promoted to the rank of sergeant on August 6, 2023, and this |

| 7 | 7 | | achievement represents an impressive milestone in his law |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | enforcement career; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Hobbs was hired by the Flower Mound Police |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Department as a patrol officer in February 2020, and he was |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | subsequently transferred to the community services division; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | throughout his tenure, he has distinguished himself in such varied |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | roles as bicycle officer, marine safety enforcement officer, drone |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | pilot, and SWAT logistics coordinator, and he has furthered his |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | professional development by earning certification as an |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | intermediate peace officer; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In recognition of his contributions, Sergeant Hobbs |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | was nominated for Officer of the Year in both 2021 and 2022; his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | other accolades include a Certificate of Merit and a special |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | commendation from the One Tribe Foundation for providing support |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | for a motorcycle benefit ride to assist veterans; this accomplished |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | police officer holds a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and a master's degree from the University of Arizona; previously, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | he served his country as a logistics readiness officer in the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | U.S. Air Force, and he worked for the Peoria Police Department in |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Arizona from 2010 to 2016; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and dedication |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | to duty, Sergeant Justin Hobbs has greatly benefited his colleagues |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and his fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Justin Hobbs |

| 33 | 33 | | on attaining the rank of sergeant with the Flower Mound Police |
