| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sabrina Walker Hernandez was honored as the Edinburg |

| 6 | 6 | | Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year at the organization's annual |

| 7 | 7 | | Installation & Awards Banquet on November 8, 2023; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce |

| 9 | 9 | | recognizes local civic leaders for their outstanding efforts in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | behalf of their community; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, After serving her country as a member of the United |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | States Army, Ms. Hernandez discovered her true calling with the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV; over the course of her two |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | decades with the organization, she served in a number of leadership |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | roles, including as chief executive officer and vice president of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | operations; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure as CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Ms. Hernandez made many important contributions to the Rio Grande |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Valley's nonprofit sector; her most significant achievements |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | included increasing operating revenue from $750,000 to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | $2.5 million over an eight-year period and planning and overseeing |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a $12 million comprehensive capital campaign, which was the largest |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in the organization's history; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Today, Ms. Hernandez is the president and CEO of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Supporting World Hope, a consulting firm that assists organizations |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | in such areas as program development, capital campaigns, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | fundraising, and marketing; over the years, many local |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | organizations have benefited from her involvement, including the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Rotary Club of Edinburg, Village in the Valley, the Edinburg |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Economic Development Corporation, and the Edinburg Mayor's Youth |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Advisory Council; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Sabrina Walker Hernandez has demonstrated a lasting |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | commitment to making Edinburg a better place for all, and in so |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | fellow residents; now, therefore, be it |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 37 | 37 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Sabrina |

| 38 | 38 | | Walker Hernandez on being named the 2023 Woman of the Year by the |

| 39 | 39 | | Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best wishes |
