 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Albert Armendariz
 Jr. has rendered exceptional service to the city of El Paso in his
 capacity as an immigration and naturalization attorney; and
 WHEREAS, A 1970 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin
 School of Law, Mr. Armendariz is a principal of Albert Armendariz,
 Jr., Attorney at Law, PC, which is a partner in the Law Offices of
 Armendariz & Holguin; through the years, he has practiced
 extensively in the area of federal immigration law, with an
 emphasis on immigration through family relationships, deportation
 defense, acquired and derivative U.S. citizenship, and federal
 court litigation; he has further distinguished himself by speaking
 at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting and the Conference on
 Immigration and Nationality Law, held by UT Law Continuing Legal
 Education; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Armendariz has been honored as the Outstanding
 Senior Lawyer by the El Paso Young Lawyers Association, and in 2009,
 he received the inaugural Albert Armendariz Jr. Lifetime
 Achievement Award from the Mexican American Bar Association of El
 Paso; he is a member and a past president of both that entity and the
 El Paso Association of Immigration Practitioners; moreover, he
 belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers and El Paso Bar
 Associations, is involved with the National Lawyers Guild National
 Immigration Project, and is a former board chair for the Immigrant
 and Refugee Rights Project of the Texas Lawyers' Committee for
 Civil Rights Under Law; and
 WHEREAS, Through his steadfast commitment to the immigrant
 community, Albert Armendariz has benefited the lives of countless
 individuals and families in El Paso and beyond, and it is a pleasure
 to join in recognizing him for his myriad contributions; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Albert Armendariz
 Jr. for his many years of dedicated service as an immigration and
 naturalization lawyer and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
 future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
