44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Albert Armendariz
66 Jr. has rendered exceptional service to the city of El Paso in his
77 capacity as an immigration and naturalization attorney; and
88 WHEREAS, A 1970 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin
99 School of Law, Mr. Armendariz is a principal of Albert Armendariz,
1010 Jr., Attorney at Law, PC, which is a partner in the Law Offices of
1111 Armendariz & Holguin; through the years, he has practiced
1212 extensively in the area of federal immigration law, with an
1313 emphasis on immigration through family relationships, deportation
1414 defense, acquired and derivative U.S. citizenship, and federal
1515 court litigation; he has further distinguished himself by speaking
1616 at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting and the Conference on
1717 Immigration and Nationality Law, held by UT Law Continuing Legal
1818 Education; and
1919 WHEREAS, Mr. Armendariz has been honored as the Outstanding
2020 Senior Lawyer by the El Paso Young Lawyers Association, and in 2009,
2121 he received the inaugural Albert Armendariz Jr. Lifetime
2222 Achievement Award from the Mexican American Bar Association of El
2323 Paso; he is a member and a past president of both that entity and the
2424 El Paso Association of Immigration Practitioners; moreover, he
2525 belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers and El Paso Bar
2626 Associations, is involved with the National Lawyers Guild National
2727 Immigration Project, and is a former board chair for the Immigrant
2828 and Refugee Rights Project of the Texas Lawyers' Committee for
2929 Civil Rights Under Law; and
3030 WHEREAS, Through his steadfast commitment to the immigrant
3131 community, Albert Armendariz has benefited the lives of countless
3232 individuals and families in El Paso and beyond, and it is a pleasure
3333 to join in recognizing him for his myriad contributions; now,
3434 therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3636 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Albert Armendariz
3737 Jr. for his many years of dedicated service as an immigration and
3838 naturalization lawyer and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
3939 future; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for Mr. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the
4242 Texas House of Representatives.
