7 | 7 | | capacity as an immigration and naturalization attorney; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A 1970 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin |

9 | 9 | | School of Law, Mr. Armendariz is a principal of Albert Armendariz, |

10 | 10 | | Jr., Attorney at Law, PC, which is a partner in the Law Offices of |
---|
11 | 11 | | Armendariz & Holguin; through the years, he has practiced |
---|
12 | 12 | | extensively in the area of federal immigration law, with an |
---|
13 | 13 | | emphasis on immigration through family relationships, deportation |
---|
14 | 14 | | defense, acquired and derivative U.S. citizenship, and federal |
---|
15 | 15 | | court litigation; he has further distinguished himself by speaking |
---|
16 | 16 | | at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting and the Conference on |
---|
17 | 17 | | Immigration and Nationality Law, held by UT Law Continuing Legal |
---|
18 | 18 | | Education; and |

19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Armendariz has been honored as the Outstanding |
---|
20 | 20 | | Senior Lawyer by the El Paso Young Lawyers Association, and in 2009, |

21 | 21 | | he received the inaugural Albert Armendariz Jr. Lifetime |
---|
22 | 22 | | Achievement Award from the Mexican American Bar Association of El |

23 | 23 | | Paso; he is a member and a past president of both that entity and the |
---|
24 | 24 | | El Paso Association of Immigration Practitioners; moreover, he |
---|
25 | 25 | | belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers and El Paso Bar |
---|
26 | 26 | | Associations, is involved with the National Lawyers Guild National |
---|
27 | 27 | | Immigration Project, and is a former board chair for the Immigrant |
---|
28 | 28 | | and Refugee Rights Project of the Texas Lawyers' Committee for |
---|
29 | 29 | | Civil Rights Under Law; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Through his steadfast commitment to the immigrant |

31 | 31 | | community, Albert Armendariz has benefited the lives of countless |
---|
32 | 32 | | individuals and families in El Paso and beyond, and it is a pleasure |

33 | 33 | | to join in recognizing him for his myriad contributions; now, |
