H.R. No. 71
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sam Saldivar was honored as the Edinburg Chamber of
Commerce Man of the Year at the organization's annual Installation &
Awards Banquet on November 8, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce
recognizes civic leaders for their outstanding efforts in behalf of
the Edinburg community; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Edinburg, Mr. Saldivar has
enjoyed a successful career in insurance, working for the American
National Life Insurance Company before embarking on a 57-year
tenure with State Farm Insurance; in addition to his professional
responsibilities, he has given generously of his time and talents
to numerous worthy organizations, including American Legion
Post 408, the Kiwanis Club of Edinburg, the Knights of Columbus,
the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, Sam Saldivar has demonstrated a lasting commitment
to making Edinburg a better place for all, and in so doing, he has
earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow residents;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Sam Saldivar
on his selection as the 2023 Man of the Year by the Edinburg Chamber
of Commerce and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Saldivar as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
