| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sam Saldivar was honored as the Edinburg Chamber of |

| 6 | 6 | | Commerce Man of the Year at the organization's annual Installation & |

| 7 | 7 | | Awards Banquet on November 8, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce |

| 9 | 9 | | recognizes civic leaders for their outstanding efforts in behalf of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the Edinburg community; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Edinburg, Mr. Saldivar has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | enjoyed a successful career in insurance, working for the American |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | National Life Insurance Company before embarking on a 57-year |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | tenure with State Farm Insurance; in addition to his professional |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | responsibilities, he has given generously of his time and talents |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to numerous worthy organizations, including American Legion |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Post 408, the Kiwanis Club of Edinburg, the Knights of Columbus, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Boy Scouts of America; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Sam Saldivar has demonstrated a lasting commitment |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to making Edinburg a better place for all, and in so doing, he has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow residents; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Sam Saldivar |

| 25 | 25 | | on his selection as the 2023 Man of the Year by the Edinburg Chamber |

| 26 | 26 | | of Commerce and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
