| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The marching band of Panhandle High School achieved |

| 7 | 7 | | University Interscholastic League 2A State Marching Band Contest, |

| 8 | 8 | | which was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio on October 31, 2023; |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Facing off against other top marching bands from |

| 11 | 11 | | across Texas, the Panhandle High ensemble delivered an outstanding |

| 12 | 12 | | showing at the state championship event; guided by band director |

| 13 | 13 | | John Bratton, the Pride of Panhandle band captured the bronze medal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the 2A contest, securing the highest finish at a state |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | competition in program history; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give |

| 17 | 17 | | their very best, the talented young performers of the Panhandle |

| 18 | 18 | | High School Marching Band have earned the admiration of their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | fellow students and their many community supporters, and they may |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | indeed take great pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Panhandle |

| 24 | 24 | | High School band on its third-place finish at the 2023 UIL 2A State |

| 25 | 25 | | Marching Band Contest and that all those involved with the ensemble |
