44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The marching band of Panhandle High School achieved
66 great distinction with its outstanding performance at the
77 University Interscholastic League 2A State Marching Band Contest,
88 which was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio on October 31, 2023;
99 and
1010 WHEREAS, Facing off against other top marching bands from
1111 across Texas, the Panhandle High ensemble delivered an outstanding
1212 showing at the state championship event; guided by band director
1313 John Bratton, the Pride of Panhandle band captured the bronze medal
1414 in the 2A contest, securing the highest finish at a state
1515 competition in program history; and
1616 WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give
1717 their very best, the talented young performers of the Panhandle
1818 High School Marching Band have earned the admiration of their
1919 fellow students and their many community supporters, and they may
2020 indeed take great pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be
2121 it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2323 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Panhandle
2424 High School band on its third-place finish at the 2023 UIL 2A State
2525 Marching Band Contest and that all those involved with the ensemble
2626 be extended sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
2727 further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3030 House of Representatives.
