R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Tomball Christian Warriors football team
continued its tradition of excellence by winning the 2023 National
Homeschool Football Association Division 1 championship; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2009, the Tomball Christian Warriors
is a support organization focused on enabling homeschool students
to compete in athletics; the TCW football team has enjoyed notable
success, winning multiple championships in the Texas Christian
Athletic League and finishing as runner-up for the NHFA national
title in 2020 and 2021; and
WHEREAS, Joining the nation's other top teams in Panama City,
Florida, for the 2023 NHFA National Tournament, the Warriors
advanced to the semifinals, where they bested the defending
champion Tulsa NOAH Jaguars 23-9 and punched their ticket to the
tournament finale; and
WHEREAS, On November 18, the Warriors took the field at Tommy
Oliver Memorial Stadium to battle the Christ Prep Academy Patriots
for the crown; the Tomball athletes excelled on both sides of the
line of scrimmage and clinched their first national title by the
final score of 17-0; and
WHEREAS, The Warriors were paced by running back and
linebacker Caleb Harmon, the tournament Most Valuable Player, and
he was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Cameron Frank, Drew
Harrison, Jack Alderson, Josiah Nellis, Thomas Frye, and Ty
Rosenbush; throughout the season, the team received vital
contributions from each member of the roster, and these dedicated
student-athletes benefited from the guidance of first-year head
coach Skeet Alderson and the support of TCW president Paul
Resurreccion; and
WHEREAS, Through countless hours of hard work and an
unwavering commitment to excellence, the Tomball Christian
Warriors realized their season-long goal of becoming national
champions, and their accomplishments are a source of great pride to
their many supporters in the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Tomball
Christian Warriors on winning the 2023 National Homeschool Football
Association Division 1 championship and extend to the players,
coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
