5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Isabel Vega-Alvarado has rendered exceptional |

6 | 6 | | service to her fellow citizens during her 21 years with the |

7 | 7 | | Caldwell, Comal, and Hays Community Supervision and Corrections |

8 | 8 | | Department; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since January 2012, Ms. Vega-Alvarado has served as |
---|
10 | 10 | | a full-time direct care staff member for the Caldwell, Comal, and |
---|
11 | 11 | | Hays CSCD; among her responsibilities, she has facilitated day |
---|
12 | 12 | | treatment programs for Caldwell, Comal, and Hays Counties in her |
---|
13 | 13 | | capacity as a treatment counselor while also overseeing intensive |
---|
14 | 14 | | outpatient treatment; she first embarked on her career with the |
---|
15 | 15 | | agency in August 2002 as a part-time group facilitator in the Adult |
---|
16 | 16 | | Probation Department, where she directed offender education |
---|
17 | 17 | | groups, cognitive behavioral groups, and support groups; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A certified moral reconation treatment facilitator, |
---|
19 | 19 | | Ms. Vega-Alvarado provides support to individuals in criminal |
---|
20 | 20 | | justice settings and aftercare services to those who have completed |
---|
21 | 21 | | the initial stages of substance abuse treatment; she treats all of |
---|
22 | 22 | | her clients with respect and dignity, and she extends the same level |
---|
23 | 23 | | of care to her colleagues as well; during the COVID-19 pandemic, she |
---|
24 | 24 | | distinguished herself by offering virtual services and conducting |
---|
25 | 25 | | weekly check-ins by phone to offer encouragement to her clients; |
---|
26 | 26 | | and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through her expertise, professionalism, and deep |
---|
28 | 28 | | compassion, Isabel Vega-Alvarado has made a positive difference in |
---|
29 | 29 | | the lives of countless individuals, and she has earned the lasting |
---|
30 | 30 | | admiration and appreciation of all those who have worked with her; |

31 | 31 | | now, therefore, be it |

32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

33 | 33 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Isabel |
