| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ray Wilson is retiring as district director in the |

| 6 | 6 | | office of State Senator Bryan Hughes on January 31, 2024, drawing to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | a close an exemplary career in public service; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | legislative community; he has worked for Senator Hughes for many |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | years and began his career as a staff member during the legislator's |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | tenure in the Texas House; deeply respected throughout East Texas, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Mr. Wilson has built strong relationships with numerous government |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and business leaders and community stakeholders; moreover, he is a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | gifted communicator who has served as a featured speaker at events |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | across the region; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Wilson's wide-ranging |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | abilities have also been demonstrated in positions with State |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Senator Kevin Eltife and State Representatives David Simpson and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Chris Paddie; in addition, he has worked in insurance and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | investments and has been employed at Vision America and the Sabine |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Valley Regional MHMR Center in Longview; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, A native of Hawkins, Densal Ray Wilson graduated |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | from East Texas Baptist College in 1981, and he has distinguished |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | himself during a long career in the ministry; renowned for his kind |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and gentle nature and his embodiment of Christian values, he has |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | been a pastor at Light of the World Church in Marshall for 17 years, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and he previously pastored Agape Family Church for 13 years; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Wilson benefits from |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the love and support of a fine family that includes his wife, Terri, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | his children and their spouses, Tim and Jacie Wilson, Ben and Brandy |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Wilson, and Aaron and Alisha Wilson, and his grandchildren, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Bentley, Weston, Cruz, Ava, Jhett, Zoey, Watson, Lorelai, and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Gabriel; retirement will afford him the opportunity to spend more |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | time with his loved ones and to focus on his ministerial work; and |

| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his |

| 36 | 36 | | duties as district director with skill and dedication, and he may |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | indeed reflect with pride on his many years of exceptional service; |

| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |

| 40 | 40 | | 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Ray Wilson on his |

| 41 | 41 | | retirement as district director in the office of State Senator |

| 42 | 42 | | Bryan Hughes and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
