44 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Ray Wilson is retiring as district director in the
66 office of State Senator Bryan Hughes on January 31, 2024, drawing to
77 a close an exemplary career in public service; and
88 WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in the
99 legislative community; he has worked for Senator Hughes for many
1010 years and began his career as a staff member during the legislator's
1111 tenure in the Texas House; deeply respected throughout East Texas,
1212 Mr. Wilson has built strong relationships with numerous government
1313 and business leaders and community stakeholders; moreover, he is a
1414 gifted communicator who has served as a featured speaker at events
1515 across the region; and
1616 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Wilson's wide-ranging
1717 abilities have also been demonstrated in positions with State
1818 Senator Kevin Eltife and State Representatives David Simpson and
1919 Chris Paddie; in addition, he has worked in insurance and
2020 investments and has been employed at Vision America and the Sabine
2121 Valley Regional MHMR Center in Longview; and
2222 WHEREAS, A native of Hawkins, Densal Ray Wilson graduated
2323 from East Texas Baptist College in 1981, and he has distinguished
2424 himself during a long career in the ministry; renowned for his kind
2525 and gentle nature and his embodiment of Christian values, he has
2626 been a pastor at Light of the World Church in Marshall for 17 years,
2727 and he previously pastored Agape Family Church for 13 years; and
2828 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Wilson benefits from
2929 the love and support of a fine family that includes his wife, Terri,
3030 his children and their spouses, Tim and Jacie Wilson, Ben and Brandy
3131 Wilson, and Aaron and Alisha Wilson, and his grandchildren,
3232 Bentley, Weston, Cruz, Ava, Jhett, Zoey, Watson, Lorelai, and
3333 Gabriel; retirement will afford him the opportunity to spend more
3434 time with his loved ones and to focus on his ministerial work; and
3535 WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his
3636 duties as district director with skill and dedication, and he may
3737 indeed reflect with pride on his many years of exceptional service;
3838 now, therefore, be it
3939 RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
4040 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Ray Wilson on his
4141 retirement as district director in the office of State Senator
4242 Bryan Hughes and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
4343 and, be it further
4444 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4545 prepared for Mr. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4646 House of Representatives and Senate.
