| 7 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital is a nonprofit |

| 8 | 12 | | community hospital that operates without a county or hospital |
|---|
| 9 | 13 | | district and is one of the largest employers in the area; the |
|---|
| 10 | 14 | | hospital has provided more than $2 million in uncompensated |
|---|
| 11 | 15 | | patient care, and it has been recognized among the top hospitals |
|---|
| 12 | 16 | | nationwide on multiple occasions; and |
|---|
| 13 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In 2021, Columbus Community Hospital launched its |
|---|
| 14 | 18 | | expansion project with the aim of updating and expanding both |
|---|
| 15 | 19 | | inpatient and outpatient care facilities and establishing a |
|---|
| 16 | 20 | | wellness center with a range of amenities; the project was |
|---|
| 17 | 21 | | carried out without the use of local, state tax funds or federal |
|---|
| 18 | 22 | | funding, and its completion has enabled the hospital to serve a |
|---|
| 19 | 23 | | greater number of patients and to offer a broader range of health |
|---|
| 20 | 24 | | care options; and |

| 21 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The project involved the addition of a new |
|---|
| 22 | 26 | | facility space, including new patient exam rooms, four |
|---|
| 23 | 27 | | additional nursery bays, and a new anesthesia care unit equipped |
|---|
| 24 | 28 | | with 10 recovery beds and two pre-operative beds; renovation |
|---|
| 25 | 29 | | efforts included updates to the hospital's emergency rooms, |
|---|
| 26 | 30 | | labor and delivery room, nurses' station, and medical office |
|---|
| 27 | 31 | | building, and in 2022, the hospital opened its Wellness Center |

| 28 | 32 | | offering state-of-the-art fitness equipment, an indoor track, a |
|---|
| 29 | 33 | | group fitness studio, physical therapy services, a pool, and a |

| 30 | 34 | | demonstration kitchen; and |
