5+ SENATE RESOLUTION
26 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
37 recognize Columbus Community Hospital on its recent facility
48 expansion and renovation and on its commitment to providing
59 high-quality health care to the residents of Columbus and the
610 surrounding areas; and
711 WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital is a nonprofit
812 community hospital that operates without a county or hospital
913 district and is one of the largest employers in the area; the
1014 hospital has provided more than $2 million in uncompensated
1115 patient care, and it has been recognized among the top hospitals
1216 nationwide on multiple occasions; and
1317 WHEREAS, In 2021, Columbus Community Hospital launched its
1418 expansion project with the aim of updating and expanding both
1519 inpatient and outpatient care facilities and establishing a
1620 wellness center with a range of amenities; the project was
1721 carried out without the use of local, state tax funds or federal
1822 funding, and its completion has enabled the hospital to serve a
1923 greater number of patients and to offer a broader range of health
2024 care options; and
2125 WHEREAS, The project involved the addition of a new
2226 facility space, including new patient exam rooms, four
2327 additional nursery bays, and a new anesthesia care unit equipped
2428 with 10 recovery beds and two pre-operative beds; renovation
2529 efforts included updates to the hospital's emergency rooms,
2630 labor and delivery room, nurses' station, and medical office
2731 building, and in 2022, the hospital opened its Wellness Center
2832 offering state-of-the-art fitness equipment, an indoor track, a
2933 group fitness studio, physical therapy services, a pool, and a
3034 demonstration kitchen; and
31- WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital has shown outstanding
32- dedication in serving the residents of the Columbus area, and it
33- is truly fitting that this exemplary institution receive special
34- recognition on its ongoing commitment to providing exceptional
35- care to the people of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
35+ WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital has shown
36+ outstanding dedication in serving the residents of the Columbus
37+ area, and it is truly fitting that this exemplary institution
38+ receive special recognition on its ongoing commitment to
39+ providing exceptional care to the people of the Lone Star State;
40+ now, therefore, be it
3641 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
3742 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend all associated
3843 with Columbus Community Hospital on their outstanding
3944 contributions to public health and wellness in the state and
4045 extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further
4146 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
4247 Columbus Community Hospital as an expression of esteem from the
4348 Texas Senate.
