| 3 | 3 | | named the 2023 College Board Advanced Placement Large District of |

| 4 | 4 | | the Year and is being honored during a special ceremony at Vista |

| 5 | 5 | | Ridge High School on November 16; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the College Board Advanced Placement |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Program recognizes just three schools nationwide, in small-, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | medium-, and large-district categories, for their achievements |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in expanding access to AP initiatives and boosting equity and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | exam performance; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Leander ISD has made advanced academic coursework |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | an integral part of its educational mission; the district's |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | advanced pathway programs are offered at elementary and middle |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | school campuses, and AP high school classes give students the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | opportunity to excel in a challenging learning environment that |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | enables them to build the knowledge and discipline they need to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | prepare for college; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | vitality of our state, and the administrators and faculty of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Leander ISD are to be commended for helping students to reach |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | their full potential by prioritizing Advanced Placement studies; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Leander |

| 25 | 25 | | Independent School District on its selection as the 2023 College |

| 26 | 26 | | Board Advanced Placement Large District of the Year and extend to |

| 27 | 27 | | all those associated with the district sincere best wishes for |
|---|
