| 4 | 4 | | Hilbert R. Maldonado on the occasion of the restaurant's 50th |

| 5 | 5 | | anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, This treasured family-owned business was founded |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in 1973 by enterprising University of Texas student Hilbert R. |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Maldonado, who set out to create the best burger in the capital |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | city; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Hilbert and his wife, Lucille, pursued their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | dream of establishing Hill-Bert's Burgers, and their phenomenal |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | family burger and milkshake recipes became favorites of Austin |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | locals and visitors alike; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, For 50 years, the Austin community has been |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | overwhelmingly appreciative of Hill-Bert's fresh and juicy |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | burgers, hand-breaded chicken-fried steak sandwiches, homemade |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | onion rings, and famous milkshakes; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This beloved business and its owners and staff are |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for catering to the hearts |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and palates of Texans throughout the years and for continuing their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | family's proud tradition of providing exceptional service and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | delicious fare to their customers; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the Maldonado |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | family and the staff of Hill-Bert's Burgers on their contributions |

| 26 | 26 | | to the Austin community and extend to all congratulations on the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | restaurant's 50th anniversary and best wishes for the future and |
