| 3 | 3 | | Texas Chapter 20th Annual Educational Conference is taking place |

| 4 | 4 | | from December 6 through 8, 2023, and this event offers a fitting |

| 5 | 5 | | opportunity to recognize the chapter's vice president, Edgar |

| 6 | 6 | | Cruz; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Port Isabel High School, Mr. Cruz |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | attended the Police Academy at The University of Texas Rio Grande |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Valley Brownsville Campus; he was employed as a manager at H-E-B |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and went on to work as a code enforcement officer for the City of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | South Padre Island before becoming the city's first |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | environmental health manager; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cruz has further distinguished himself |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | through his involvement in the TEHA South Texas Chapter; in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | addition to his work as vice president, he has played an |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | instrumental role in organizing the Annual Educational |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Conference; he has also benefited his community through his many |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | years of service with the City of Port Isabel Volunteer Fire |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Department; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The skilled leadership and dedicated efforts of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Edgar Cruz have greatly contributed to the success of TEHA South |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Texas Chapter, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring him for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | his professional achievements and civic contributions; now, |

| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor Edgar Cruz on the |
