2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Ray Wilson is retiring as district director in the |

3 | 3 | | office of State Senator Bryan Hughes on January 31, 2024, drawing |

4 | 4 | | to a close an exemplary career in public service; and |
---|
5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in the |
---|
6 | 6 | | legislative community; he has worked for Senator Hughes for many |
---|
7 | 7 | | years and began his career as a staff member during the |
---|
8 | 8 | | legislator's tenure in the Texas House; deeply respected |
---|
9 | 9 | | throughout East Texas, Mr. Wilson has built strong relationships |
---|
10 | 10 | | with numerous government and business leaders and community |
---|
11 | 11 | | stakeholders; moreover, he is a gifted communicator who has |
---|
12 | 12 | | served as a featured speaker at events across the region; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Wilson's wide-ranging |
---|
14 | 14 | | abilities have also been demonstrated in positions with State |
---|
15 | 15 | | Senator Kevin Eltife and State Representatives David Simpson and |
---|
16 | 16 | | Chris Paddie; in addition, he has worked in insurance and |
---|
17 | 17 | | investments and has been employed at Vision America and the |
---|
18 | 18 | | Sabine Valley Regional MHMR Center in Longview; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A native of Hawkins, Densal Ray Wilson graduated |
---|
20 | 20 | | from East Texas Baptist College in 1981, and he has distinguished |
---|
21 | 21 | | himself during a long career in the ministry; renowned for his |
---|
22 | 22 | | kind and gentle nature and his embodiment of Christian values, he |
---|
23 | 23 | | has been a pastor at Light of the World Church in Marshall for 17 |
---|
24 | 24 | | years, and he previously pastored Agape Family Church for 13 |
---|
25 | 25 | | years; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Wilson benefits from |
---|
27 | 27 | | the love and support of a fine family that includes his wife, |
---|
28 | 28 | | Terri, his children and their spouses, Tim and Jacie Wilson, Ben |
---|
29 | 29 | | and Brandy Wilson, and Aaron and Alisha Wilson, and his |
---|
30 | 30 | | grandchildren, Bentley, Weston, Cruz, Ava, Jhett, Zoey, Watson, |
---|
31 | 31 | | Lorelai, and Gabriel; retirement will afford him the opportunity |
---|
32 | 32 | | to spend more time with his loved ones and to focus on his |
---|
33 | 33 | | ministerial work; and |
---|
34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his |
---|
35 | 35 | | duties as district director with skill and dedication, and he may |
---|
36 | 36 | | indeed reflect with pride on his many years of exceptional |
---|
37 | 37 | | service; now, therefore, be it |

38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
---|
39 | 39 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Ray Wilson |
---|
40 | 40 | | on his retirement as district director in the office of State |

41 | 41 | | Senator Bryan Hughes and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
