5	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	7		commemorates the life of Troy Peterson Bacon II, who died on
7	8		October 30, 2023, at the age 35; and
8	9		WHEREAS, "Scoota B," as he was affectionately known, was
9	10		born on June 27, 1988; the firstborn son of Troy Peterson Bacon I
10	11		and Ramona Ross-Bacon, he was raised by loving example by his
11		-	family and his church community, and he demonstrated a talent and a
12		-	passion for singing beginning when he was just two years old; and
13		-	WHEREAS, A gifted musical artist, he found great reward and
14		-	enjoyment in performing with his band, The After Party, and he
15		-	appeared in his last show with them on Saturday, October 21 in
	12	+	family and his church community, and he demonstrated a talent and
	13	+	a passion for singing beginning when he was just two years old;
	14	+	and
	15	+	WHEREAS, A gifted musical artist, he found great reward
	16	+	and enjoyment in performing with his band, The After Party, and
	17	+	he appeared in his last show with them on Saturday, October 21 in
16	18		Houston; as always, he dedicated himself fully to his role as a
17	19		performer and earned the admiration and appreciation of his
18	20		audience, despite experiencing the effects of his illness with
19	21		Lupus, for which he was hospitalized several days later; and
20	22		WHEREAS, Blessed with a strong and determined spirit, he
21	23		faced his illness with courage and perseverance, and he placed a
22	24		high priority on fulfilling his commitments and on living each
23	25		day to the fullest; he was passionate about encouraging other
24	26		young people affected by the disease to fulfill their educational
25	27		goals, and the Troy P. Scoota B. Bacon II Lupus Scholarship Fund
26	28		was established in support of this mission; and
27	29		WHEREAS, Scoota B was a devoted son and was dearly
28	30		cherished by his family members and countless friends; his
29	31		resilience and positive outlook were a source of inspiration to
30	32		others, and his creative and generous spirit made a lasting
31	33		impact in the lives of all who knew him; he leaves behind memories
32	34		that will be forever treasured by his family and his many loved
33	35		ones and by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
34	36		therefore, be it
35	37		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
36	38		Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby extend sincere
37	39		condolences to the bereaved family of Troy Peterson "Scoota B"
38	40		Bacon II; and, be it further
39	41		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
40	42		his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
41	43		Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
42	44		memory of Troy Peterson Bacon II.
