 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
 of Jerry Wayne Wallace of Mineola, who passed away on September 22,
 2017, at the age of 80; and
 WHEREAS, Jerry Wallace was born in Malakoff on November 24,
 1936, to Roy and Lucile Wallace and grew up with the companionship
 of four siblings, Joanna, Bobby, Don, and Tommy; he graduated from
 Buckner Academy, and answering his nation's call to duty, he joined
 the U.S. Navy and served for four years; and
 WHEREAS, Returning to civilian life, Mr. Wallace went on to
 work for Western Electric, which later became AT&T; he retired from
 Alcatel-Lucent after 40 years of dedicated service; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Wallace became a master mason on October 8,
 1964, and in 2014, he received his 50 years of masonic membership
 Golden Veterans Award; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Wallace benefited from the
 love and support of a fine family that included his wife, Joan, his
 children, Wendie and Douglas, his stepson, Kelly, and his grandson,
 Branden; and
 WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured
 man's love and friendship will always remember him with admiration
 and affection; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th
 Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jerry Wayne
 Wallace and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
 family: to his wife, Joan Cole Wallace; to his daughter, Wendie
 Wallace; to his grandson, Branden Wallace; to his stepson, Kelly
 Cole, and his wife, Toni; to his sister, Joanna Hughes, and her
 husband, Mike; to his brother, Bobby Wallace, and his wife, Marsha;
 to his nephews, Kevin, Bryan, Chris, and Corey Hughes; and to his
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
 day, it do so in memory of Jerry Wallace.
