	6	+	WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
	7	+	of Jerry Wayne Wallace of Mineola, who passed away on September 22,
	8	+	2017, at the age of 80; and
8	9		WHEREAS, Jerry Wallace was born in Malakoff on November 24,
9		-	1936, to Roy and Lucile Wallace and grew up with the
10		-	~~companionship~~ of four siblings, Joanna, Bobby, Don, and Tommy; he
11		-	~~graduated from~~ Buckner Academy, and answering his nation's call
12		-	~~to duty, he joined~~ the U.S. Navy and served for four years; and
13		-	WHEREAS, Returning to civilian life, Mr. Wallace went on
14		-	to work for Western Electric, which later became AT&T; he retired
15		-	~~from~~ Alcatel-Lucent after 40 years of dedicated service; and

16	17		WHEREAS, Mr. Wallace became a master mason on October 8,
17	18		1964, and in 2014, he received his 50 years of masonic membership
18	19		Golden Veterans Award; and
19		-	WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Wallace benefited from
20		-	the love and support of a fine family that included his wife,
21		-	Joan, his children, Wendie and Douglas, his stepson, Kelly, and
22		-	his grandson, Branden; and
23		-	WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this
24		-	treasured man's love and friendship will always remember him with
25		-	admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it
26		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
27		-	Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life
28		-	of Jerry Wayne Wallace and extend sincere condolences to the
29		-	members of his family: to his wife, Joan Cole Wallace; to his
30		-	daughter, Wendie Wallace; to his grandson, Branden Wallace; to
31		-	his stepson, Kelly Cole, and his wife, Toni; to his sister,
32		-	Joanna Hughes, and her husband, Mike; to his brother, Bobby
33		-	Wallace, and his wife, Marsha; to his nephews, Kevin, Bryan,
34		-	Chris, and Corey Hughes; and to his other relatives and friends;

	30	+	family: to his wife, Joan Cole Wallace; to his daughter, Wendie
	31	+	Wallace; to his grandson, Branden Wallace; to his stepson, Kelly
	32	+	Cole, and his wife, Toni; to his sister, Joanna Hughes, and her
	33	+	husband, Mike; to his brother, Bobby Wallace, and his wife, Marsha;
	34	+	to his nephews, Kevin, Bryan, Chris, and Corey Hughes; and to his
	35	+	other relatives and friends; and, be it further
36	36		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
37		-	prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
38		-	this day, it do so in memory of Jerry Wallace.
