56 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Alice
67 Jane Boulter Littlejohn of Marshall, who passed away on November 7,
78 2023, at the age of 93; and
89 WHEREAS, The daughter of Robert Spurgeon Boulter and Cecil
910 Taylor Boulter, the former Jane Boulter was born in Swan on
1011 September 21, 1930; she met her future husband, Orin Littlejohn, as
1112 a student at North Texas State Teachers College, and she went on to
1213 complete her bachelor's degree in drama education at The University
1314 of Texas at Austin; after Dr. Littlejohn completed his training as
1415 a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, they married and lived in Apple
1516 Valley, California; Mrs. Littlejohn taught school in Victorville
1617 before returning to Texas for the birth of her first child, Robert;
1718 she then earned her elementary school teaching certificate at
1819 Stephen F. Austin State College and taught in Dallas for several
1920 years while her husband completed medical school; once settled in
2021 Marshall, they were blessed with a daughter, Eleeza; and
2122 WHEREAS, Mrs. Littlejohn was dedicated to her community and
2223 served as president of the Marshall Medical Auxiliary and as a
2324 member of the Harrison County Historical Society, the Marshall
2425 Symphony Orchestra, La Belle Maison, and Republican Women of
2526 Harrison County Texas; in addition, she taught Sunday school at
2627 First Presbyterian Church and was involved in the women's ministry;
2728 she and her husband were greatly inspired by the citywide Festivals
2829 of Faith in the early 1970s and traveled to churches across the
2930 Southwest as members of numerous Covenant Fellowship of
3031 Presbyterians lay renewal teams; in the 1980s, they played key
3132 roles in the founding of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of
3233 Marshall; each morning, they prayed and read the Bible together,
3334 memorizing passages; they were active in Marshall Prayer Force, A
3435 Praying Life Seminars, and the National Evangelical Presbyterian
3536 Church as well; a gracious hostess, Mrs. Littlejohn welcomed
3637 countless relatives, friends, and acquaintances from across the
3738 country and around the world into her home, for an evening or for
3839 weeks; she was an incurable optimist who saw the best in others and
3940 freely offered encouragement to everyone she met; and
4041 WHEREAS, Jane Littlejohn brightened the days of innumerable
4142 people through her kindness, wry sense of humor, and whimsical
4243 flare for the dramatic, and although she is sadly missed by those
4344 she left behind, they will treasure their memories of her devotion
4445 to her family and faith; now, therefore, be it
45- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
46- Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
47- Jane Littlejohn and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
48- family: to her children, Dr. Robert Littlejohn and his wife,
49- Teresa, and Eleeza Littlejohn Rex and her husband, Robert; to her
50- grandchildren, David Littlejohn, Katelyn Kirnie, Logan Rex, Parker
51- Rex, Katherine Hely, and Alison Rex; to her seven
52- great-grandchildren; and to her many other relatives and friends;
53- and, be it further
46+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th
47+ Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jane Littlejohn
48+ and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
49+ children, Dr. Robert Littlejohn and his wife, Teresa, and Eleeza
50+ Littlejohn Rex and her husband, Robert; to her grandchildren, David
