2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3		-	recognize the Albanian American Cultural Center and the members of
4		-	the Albanian American community of Texas in honor of their ~~many~~
5		-	contributions to the Lone Star State, which were celebrated on
6		-	November 28, 2023; and

7	11		WHEREAS, The Albanian American Cultural Center was
8	12		established in 1985 and registered as a nonprofit organization in
9	13		1996, and for the last three decades it has played an
10	14		instrumental role in shaping the cultural and societal fabric of
11	15		our great state; and
12	16		WHEREAS, Before the center's founding, pioneering
13	17		businessmen and public servants hailing from such regions as
14	18		Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro laid the groundwork for a
15	19		thriving Albanian American community in Texas, and their early
16		-	endeavors set the stage for the establishment of the center and its
17		-	subsequent expansion of services and community initiatives; and

18	23		WHEREAS, The fall of communism in Albania in the 1990s and
19	24		the devastating war that followed brought forth a wave of valiant

22		-	Albanian American Cultural Center offered unwavering ~~support,~~
23		-	resources, and a welcoming community that allowed the ~~refugees to~~
24		-	find solace and opportunity in a land of peace; and

26	31		Americans in Texas who serve in a wide range of professions and
27	32		fields including the arts, sciences, business, and academia, and
28	33		the accomplishments of these extraordinary individuals are a
29	34		testament to their enduring strength and determination; and
30	35		WHEREAS, The Albanian American Cultural Center is the
31	36		product of the resilience and dynamism of the Albanian American
32	37		community, and the center's efforts to foster education and
33	38		community development provide a beacon of hope and encouragement
34	39		for families and individuals who value liberty and peace; now,
35	40		therefore, be it
36	41		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
37	42		Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the Albanian
38	43		American Cultural Center on its many positive contributions to
39	44		our state and extend to all associated with the center best
40	45		wishes for the future; and, be it further
41	46		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
42	47		the center as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
