57 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
68 AN ACT
79 relating to the execution of a warrant issued for certain releasees
810 who violate a condition of parole or mandatory supervision related
911 to the electronic monitoring of the releasee.
1012 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1113 SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is
1214 amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows:
1315 Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF
1416 SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency
1517 shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to
1618 the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the
1719 super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a
1820 condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the
1921 electronic monitoring of the releasee.
2022 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2123 to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date
2224 of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective
2325 date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the
2426 warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for
2527 that purpose.
2628 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
