10 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is |
---|
12 | 14 | | amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows: |
---|
13 | 15 | | Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF |
---|
14 | 16 | | SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency |
---|
15 | 17 | | shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to |
---|
16 | 18 | | the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the |
---|
17 | 19 | | super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a |
---|
18 | 20 | | condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the |
---|
19 | 21 | | electronic monitoring of the releasee. |
---|
20 | 22 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
---|
21 | 23 | | to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date |
---|
22 | 24 | | of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective |
---|
23 | 25 | | date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the |
---|
24 | 26 | | warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for |
---|
25 | 27 | | that purpose. |

26 | 28 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
