| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 74.104, Government Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 74.104. COMPENSATION. (a) The judges shall determine |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | reasonable compensation for the court coordinators[, subject to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | approval of the commissioners court]. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) The [Upon approval by the commissioners court of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | position and compensation, the] commissioners court of the county |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | shall provide through the county's budget process the [necessary] |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | funding necessary to pay the compensation determined under |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Subsection (a) [through the county's budget process]. County funds |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | may be supplemented in whole or part through public or private |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | grants. |

| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. Section 75.401(d), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (d) A court administrator is entitled to reasonable |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | compensation, as determined by the judges served and in the salary |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | range for the position[, as set by the commissioners court in the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | annual budget]. |

| 30 | 30 | | SECTION 3. Section 152.011, Local Government Code, is |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Sec. 152.011. AMOUNT SET BY COMMISSIONERS COURT. Except as |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | provided by Sections 74.104 and 75.401, Government Code, the [The] |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | commissioners court of a county shall set the amount of the |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | compensation, office and travel expenses, and all other allowances |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | for county and precinct officers and employees who are paid wholly |
|---|

| 38 | 38 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
