10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 662.003(c), Government Code, is amended | |
12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (c) An "optional holiday" includes only: | |
14 | 14 | (1) the days on which Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, [or] | |
15 | 15 | Good Friday, All Saints' Day, Lunar New Year, Dashera, Vaisakhi, | |
16 | 16 | Vesak, Eid al-Fitr, or Eid al-Adha fall; and | |
17 | 17 | (2) one day of the Diwali festival and one day of | |
18 | 18 | Passover selected by the state employee observing the optional | |
19 | 19 | holiday [falls]. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
