77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the designation of certain optional holidays.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 662.003(c), Government Code, is amended
1212 to read as follows:
1313 (c) An "optional holiday" includes only:
1414 (1) the days on which Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, [or]
1515 Good Friday, All Saints' Day, Lunar New Year, Dashera, Vaisakhi,
1616 Vesak, Eid al-Fitr, or Eid al-Adha fall; and
1717 (2) one day of the Diwali festival and one day of
1818 Passover selected by the state employee observing the optional
1919 holiday [falls].
2020 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
