11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 92.052(d), Property Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (d) The tenant's notice under Subsection (a): | |
15 | 15 | (1) must be in writing only if the tenant's lease is in | |
16 | 16 | writing and requires written notice; and | |
17 | 17 | (2) may be provided by the tenant to the landlord | |
18 | 18 | through an online apartment portal, if one is maintained by the | |
19 | 19 | landlord and rent is paid through the portal. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Section 92.052(d), Property Code, as amended by | |
21 | 21 | this Act, applies only to a lease agreement entered into or renewed | |
22 | 22 | on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
