14 | 16 | | Sec. 128A.001. LIMITATION ON CIVIL ACTION. A civil action |

15 | 17 | | related to a report of suspicious activity of another person to an |

16 | 18 | | appropriate law enforcement authority may not be brought against |

17 | 19 | | the person who made the report if the person acted: |
---|
18 | 20 | | (1) as a reasonable person would in the same or similar |
---|
19 | 21 | | circumstances; and |
---|
20 | 22 | | (2) with a reasonable belief that the suspicious |
---|
21 | 23 | | activity constituted or was in furtherance of a crime, including an |
---|
22 | 24 | | act of terrorism. |

23 | 25 | | SECTION 2. Section 128A.001, Civil Practice and Remedies |

24 | 26 | | Code, as added by this Act, applies only to a cause of action that |
---|
25 | 27 | | accrues on or after the effective date of this Act. |

26 | 28 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
