11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Chapter 443, Government Code, is amended by | |
13 | 13 | adding Section 443.01528 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 443.01528. MEMORIAL MONUMENT FOR UNBORN CHILDREN. The | |
15 | 15 | State Preservation Board may approve and establish a memorial | |
16 | 16 | monument on the State Capitol grounds dedicated to unborn children. | |
17 | 17 | The State Preservation Board may use only private contributions | |
18 | 18 | made for a purpose related to the memorial monument to create, | |
19 | 19 | establish, and permanently maintain the monument. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Section 443.0152(a-1), Government Code, is | |
21 | 21 | amended to read as follows: | |
22 | 22 | (a-1) Except as provided by Sections 443.01525, [and] | |
23 | 23 | 443.01526, and 443.01528, after September 1, 2009, no additional | |
24 | 24 | monuments may be placed on the historic grounds of the Capitol. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
