| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 572.032, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (d) to read as |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (a) Financial statements filed under this subchapter are |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | public records. The commission shall: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) maintain the statements in separate alphabetical |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | files and in a manner that is accessible to the public during |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | regular office hours; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) make each statement available to the public on the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | commission's Internet website not later than the 15th day after the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | date the statement is required to be filed or the date the statement |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | is actually filed, whichever date is later. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (d) The commission is not required to continue to make |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | available on the commission's Internet website a financial |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | statement that the commission may destroy under Subsection (c). |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | The commission may not make available on the commission's Internet |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | website a financial statement that the commission is required to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | destroy under Subsection (c). |

| 30 | 30 | | SECTION 2. Section 572.032(a-1), Government Code, as |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | amended by Chapters 34 (S.B. 1576) and 983 (H.B. 776), Acts of the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, is reenacted and amended |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (a-1) The commission shall remove the home address, the |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | telephone number, and the names of the dependent children of an |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | individual from a financial statement filed by the individual under |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | this subchapter before: |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | (1) permitting a member of the public to view the |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | statement; |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | (2) providing a copy of the statement to a member of |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | the public; or |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | (3) making the statement available to the public on |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | the commission's Internet website[, if the commission makes |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | statements filed under this subchapter available on its website]. |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | SECTION 3. Section 572.032(b), Government Code, is |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | repealed. |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
