9 | 9 | relating to the payment of a fee for the administration of a special | |
10 | 10 | education or bilingual education certificate examination. | |
11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 21.04892 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 21.04892. FEES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION OR BILINGUAL | |
15 | 15 | EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS. For each person who takes an | |
16 | 16 | examination prescribed under Section 21.048 for certification to | |
17 | 17 | teach in special education or bilingual education, including | |
18 | 18 | certification under Section 21.04891, the board shall, as | |
19 | 19 | applicable: | |
20 | 20 | (1) waive any fee assessed by the board for the | |
21 | 21 | administration of the examination; and | |
22 | 22 | (2) pay on behalf of the person to the vendor who | |
23 | 23 | administers the examination any fee assessed by the vendor to the | |
24 | 24 | person for the administration of the examination. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
