77 AN ACT
88 relating to designating certain substances as Schedule IV
99 controlled substances under the Texas Controlled Substances Act.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 481.037, Health and Safety Code, is
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 Sec. 481.037. DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN SUBSTANCES
1414 [CARISOPRODOL]. Schedule IV includes:
1515 (1) carisoprodol;
1616 (2) mifepristone; and
1717 (3) misoprostol.
1818 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
1919 to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act.
2020 An offense committed before the effective date of this Act is
2121 governed by the law in effect on the date the offense was committed,
2222 and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For
2323 purposes of this section, an offense was committed before the
2424 effective date of this Act if any element of the offense occurred
2525 before that date.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
