86 AN ACT
97 relating to daylight saving time.
108 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
119 SECTION 1. Section 312.016, Government Code, is amended by
1210 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1311 (d) This state, acting as authorized under federal law,
1412 shall observe daylight saving time year-round. This subsection
1513 applies to both the portion of this state using central standard
1614 time as the official standard time and the portion of this state
17- using mountain standard time as the official standard time. The
18- standard time in this state shall be referred to as Texas Time.

1916 SECTION 2. (a) Except as otherwise provided by this
2017 section, this Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
2118 (b) This Act takes effect only if the United States Congress
2219 enacts legislation that becomes law that authorizes the State of
2320 Texas to observe daylight saving time year-round. If the United
2421 States Congress does not enact legislation that becomes law
2522 described by this subsection, this Act has no effect.
