11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 29.912(e), Education Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (e) An employee of a coordinating entity that manages a | |
15 | 15 | partnership under the program is eligible for membership in and | |
16 | 16 | benefits from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas if the | |
17 | 17 | employee would be eligible for membership and benefits by holding a | |
18 | 18 | similar position at a partnering school district. [An employee is | |
19 | 19 | eligible for membership under this subsection if a partnership | |
20 | 20 | would be authorized to participate in the program, as determined by | |
21 | 21 | the commissioner, but for the maximum expenditure established in | |
22 | 22 | Section 48.118(f).] | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. Section 48.118(f), Education Code, is repealed. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
