11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 481, Government Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 481.0065 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 481.0065. COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE. (a) The office | |
15 | 15 | shall establish and maintain a communications office. | |
16 | 16 | (b) The office may hire a director of the communications | |
17 | 17 | office and staff as necessary to perform the duties of the | |
18 | 18 | communications office under this section. | |
19 | 19 | (c) The communications office shall assist the office in | |
20 | 20 | marketing and promoting the state both domestically and | |
21 | 21 | internationally through advertising, public service announcements, | |
22 | 22 | and other means that focus on state and federal laws that persons | |
23 | 23 | should be aware of when doing business in the state or visiting the | |
24 | 24 | state as a tourist. | |
25 | 25 | (d) The communications office shall prepare and distribute | |
26 | 26 | information regarding laws and programs, including the enforcement | |
27 | 27 | of laws, relating to entry into this state for purposes of business, | |
28 | 28 | tourism, and immigration. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
