| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 155.207(a), Family Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (a) Not later than the 10th working day after the date an |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | order of transfer is signed, the clerk of the court transferring a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | proceeding shall send, using the electronic filing system |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | established under Section 72.031, Government Code, to the proper |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | court to which transfer is being made: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) a transfer certificate and index of transferred |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | documents; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) a copy of each final order; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (3) a copy of the order of transfer signed by the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | transferring court; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (4) a copy of the pleadings in the pending proceeding |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and any other document specifically requested by a party [original |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | papers filed in the transferring court]; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (5) a copy of the transfer certificate and index of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | transferred documents from each previous transfer; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (6) a bill of any costs that have accrued in the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | transferring court. |

| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act to Section |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 155.207(a), Family Code, applies only to a suit affecting the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | parent-child relationship in which an order transferring |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | continuing, exclusive jurisdiction to another court is rendered on |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | or after the effective date of this Act. A suit affecting the |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | parent-child relationship in which an order transferring |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | continuing, exclusive jurisdiction to another court is rendered |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | effect on the date the order was rendered, and the former law is |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | continued in effect for that purpose. |

| 42 | 42 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
