| 10 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 33.002, Civil Practice and Remedies |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | Code, is amended by adding subsection (c)(4) to read as follows: |

| 13 | 15 | | (c) This chapter does not apply to: |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | (1) an action to collect workers' compensation |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | benefits under the workers' compensation laws of this state |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | (Subtitle A, Title 5, Labor Code) or actions against an |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | employer for exemplary damages arising out of the death of an |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | employee; |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | (2) a claim for exemplary damages including in an |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | action to which this chapter otherwise applies; or |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | (3) a cause of action for damages arising from the |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | manufacture of methamphetamine as described by Chapter 99 |
|---|
| 23 | 25 | | (4) a claim for controlling person or aider liability |
|---|
| 24 | 26 | | under Section 4008.055 of the Texas Government Code. |
|---|
| 25 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
