88 AN ACT
99 relating to continuing education for barbers and cosmetologists on
1010 identifying and assisting victims of sexual assault, domestic
1111 violence, and human trafficking.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 1603, Occupations Code, is
1414 amended by adding Section 1603.302 to read as follows:
1515 Sec. 1603.302. CONTINUING EDUCATION REGARDING SEXUAL
1616 ASSAULT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING. The commission
1717 shall adopt rules requiring a license holder to complete continuing
1818 education on identifying and assisting victims of:
1919 (1) sexual assault;
2020 (2) domestic violence; and
2121 (3) human trafficking.
2222 SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date
2323 of this Act, the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall
2424 adopt the rules required by Section 1603.302, Occupations Code, as
2525 added by this Act.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
