88 AN ACT
99 relating to the expedited credentialing of providers under the
1010 Medicaid managed care program.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 540.0656(c), Government Code, as
1313 effective April 1, 2025, is amended to read as follows:
1414 (c) At the time the commission establishes a new program
1515 under Medicaid and not less frequently than annually, the [The]
1616 commission shall review and identify the types of providers for
1717 which a Medicaid managed care organization must establish and
1818 implement an expedited credentialing process.
1919 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
2020 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
2121 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2222 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2323 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2424 waiver or authorization is granted.
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
