10 | 10 | Medicaid managed care program. | |
11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 540.0656(c), Government Code, as | |
13 | 13 | effective April 1, 2025, is amended to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (c) At the time the commission establishes a new program | |
15 | 15 | under Medicaid and not less frequently than annually, the [The] | |
16 | 16 | commission shall review and identify the types of providers for | |
17 | 17 | which a Medicaid managed care organization must establish and | |
18 | 18 | implement an expedited credentialing process. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act | |
20 | 20 | a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a | |
21 | 21 | federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, | |
22 | 22 | the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or | |
23 | 23 | authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the | |
24 | 24 | waiver or authorization is granted. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
