12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 51.037 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 51.037. PAPER BALLOT PRINTER REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN | |
14 | 14 | COUNTIES. An authority holding an election in a county with a | |
15 | 15 | population of less than 75,000 must maintain an operational printer | |
16 | 16 | at each polling place for the purpose of printing additional | |
17 | 17 | ballots. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 123, Election Code, is | |
19 | 19 | amended by adding Section 123.010 to read as follows: | |
20 | 20 | Sec. 123.010. CERTAIN ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEMS PROHIBITED | |
21 | 21 | FOR CERTAIN COUNTIES. An authority holding elections in a county | |
22 | 22 | with a population of less than 75,000 may only adopt a voting system | |
23 | 23 | that requires paper ballots for all elections held in the county. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
