| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 130.913(e), Local Government Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (e) A prosecutor's office that is awarded a grant shall use | |
| 15 | 15 | or authorize the use of the grant money only: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) to increase the salary of an assistant attorney, | |
| 17 | 17 | an investigator, a paralegal, or a victim assistance coordinator | |
| 18 | 18 | employed at the office; or | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) to hire additional staff for the office. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
