77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the exemption of certain municipalities and counties
1010 from requirements regarding the use of lifeguards on public
1111 beaches.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 61.065(e), Natural Resources Code, is
1414 amended to read as follows:
1515 (e) Subsection (c)(1) does not apply to a municipality with
1616 a population of less than 1,000 that is located in a county:
1717 (1) adjacent to a county with a population of more than
1818 3.3 million; or
1919 (2) with a population of more than 32,000 and less than
2020 40,000.
2121 SECTION 2. Section 61.066(e), Natural Resources Code, is
2222 amended to read as follows:
2323 (e) Subsection (b)(1) does not apply to a county:
2424 (1) adjacent to a county with a population of more than
2525 3.3 million that contains a municipality adjacent to the Gulf of
2626 Mexico with a population of less than 1,000; or
2727 (2) with a population of more than 32,000 and less than
2828 40,000.
2929 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
