| 9 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 11.354, Parks and Wildlife Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | (d) The department shall provide notice to the Texas A&M |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | Forest Service of the department's intent to conduct a prescribed |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | burn not less than 30 days before the planned start date of the |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | prescribed burn. The notice must include a request that the Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | A&M Forest Service appropriately locate equipment to respond to a |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | fire in the event that the prescribed burn becomes uncontained. |

| 18 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Section 11.354(d), Parks and Wildlife Code, as |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | added by this Act, applies only to a prescribed burn that the Parks |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | and Wildlife Department intends to conduct on or after the |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | effective date of this Act. |

| 22 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
