| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 30.023(d), Education Code, is amended to | |
| 13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (d) The board shall annually establish the superintendent's | |
| 15 | 15 | salary. [The annual salary may not exceed 120 percent of the annual | |
| 16 | 16 | salary of the highest paid instructional administrator at the | |
| 17 | 17 | school.] | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act applies to an employment contract that | |
| 19 | 19 | is entered into or renewed on or after the effective date of this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act. An employment contract that is entered into or renewed before | |
| 21 | 21 | the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on | |
| 22 | 22 | the date the contract was entered into or renewed, and the former | |
| 23 | 23 | law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
