| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 254, Election Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 254.0365 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 254.0365. ELECTRONIC FILING OF CERTAIN REPORTS |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | REQUIRED. (a) This section does not apply to a candidate or |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | officeholder for a judicial office subject to Subchapter F, Chapter |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 253. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) Notwithstanding any other law, a candidate or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | officeholder who is required to file reports with the commission |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | shall file the reports electronically if in a calendar year the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | candidate or officeholder: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (1) accepts political contributions that in the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | aggregate exceed $25,000; or |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (2) makes political expenditures that in the aggregate |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exceed $25,000. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (c) The commission shall make each report filed in |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | accordance with this section available to the public on the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | commission's Internet website not later than the seventh business |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | day after the date the report is filed. |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | a report of political contributions and expenditures under Chapter |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 254, Election Code, that is required to be filed on or after January |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 1, 2026. A report under that chapter that is required to be filed |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | effect on the date the report is required to be filed, and the |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
