| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 551.056, Government Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Sec. 551.056. INTERNET [ADDITIONAL] POSTING REQUIREMENTS |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | [FOR CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES, COUNTIES, SCHOOL DISTRICTS, JUNIOR |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | COLLEGE DISTRICTS, DEVELOPMENT CORPORATIONS, AUTHORITIES, AND |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | JOINT BOARDS]. (a) This section applies only to a governmental |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | body or other entity subject to this chapter [economic development |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | corporation] that maintains an Internet website or for which an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Internet website is maintained. [This section does not apply to a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | governmental body described by Section 551.001(3)(D).] |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (b) In addition to the other place at which notice or an |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | agenda of a meeting is required to be posted by this subchapter, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | each [the following] governmental body and other entity subject to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | this chapter [bodies and economic development corporations] must |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | also concurrently post notice of a meeting and the agenda for the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | meeting on the home page or landing page of the Internet website of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the governmental body or entity [economic development corporation: |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | [(1) a municipality; |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | [(2) a county; |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | [(3) a school district; |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | [(4) the governing body of a junior college or junior |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | college district, including a college or district that has changed |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | its name in accordance with Chapter 130, Education Code; |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | [(5) a development corporation organized under the |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Development Corporation Act (Subtitle C1, Title 12, Local |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Government Code); |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | [(6) a regional mobility authority included within the |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | meaning of an "authority" as defined by Section 370.003, |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | Transportation Code; |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | [(7) a joint board created under Section 22.074, |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | Transportation Code; and |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | [(8) a district or authority created under Section 52, |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | Article III, or Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution]. |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | (d) The validity of a posted notice of a meeting or an agenda |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | by a governmental body or other entity [economic development |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | corporation] subject to this chapter [section] that made a good |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | faith attempt to comply with the requirements of this section is not |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | affected by a failure to comply with a requirement of this section |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | that is due to a technical problem beyond the control of the |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | governmental body or entity [economic development corporation]. |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | SECTION 2. Section 551.056, Government Code, as amended by |
|---|
| 54 | 54 | | this Act, applies only to notice that is required to be posted on or |
|---|
| 55 | 55 | | after the effective date of this Act. Notice that is required to be |
|---|
| 56 | 56 | | posted prior to the effective date of this Act is governed by the |
|---|
| 57 | 57 | | law in effect at that time, and that law is continued in effect for |
|---|
| 58 | 58 | | that purpose. |

| 59 | 59 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
