11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 662.088 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 662.088. PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS REMEMBRANCE DAY. | |
15 | 15 | (a) October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day to | |
16 | 16 | remember and honor those who have experienced the loss of a baby | |
17 | 17 | during or shortly following pregnancy by miscarriage, stillbirth, | |
18 | 18 | sudden infant death syndrome, or death of the newborn baby. | |
19 | 19 | (b) Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day shall be | |
20 | 20 | regularly observed by appropriate ceremonies and activities, | |
21 | 21 | including by showing support for those who have experienced a loss | |
22 | 22 | and providing information on resources available to families who | |
23 | 23 | are facing a loss. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
